I have heard so many great things about Libre Tea and their glass infusers. I love tea! I used to drink it all the time, that was until I had my first double double and I was brought over to the dark side. Even though I mainline coffee on a daily basis (j/k – maybe! haha), I still enjoy my tea in the evenings and when I am feeling ill. I find that tea helps me to relax and is comforting to me when I am feeling under the weather. I have to say though, after using the Libre Tea Glass Infuser, coffee for me just may be a thing of the past ( or at least a lot less of it).
I am finicky when it comes to my teas. Normally, I would just have orange pekoe or green teas but that was until I discovered the many varieties of flavoured teas. I love orange cinnamon, lemon and as of late peppermint tea. This said, they have always been in a bag. I have only experienced using tea leaves once. It was at my friends mom’s house. The leaves were just in the water. It really turned me off watching the leaves swirl around and I cringed when I got bits of leaves in my mouth as I drank. That was the first and the last time I had loose leaf tea!
When I started hearing about Libre Tea and their infusers, I began to give using loose leaf tea a second thought. I had heard from everyone what a great product it was. I kept asking questions like: “So, does it really keep the leaves separate from the tea?” Does it really work as great as Libre Tea claims it does?” and does it really keep the liquid hot or cold?”
Every time I asked, the answer was always YES!
I was finally convinced to try the product. When I received my glass infuser, I found myself running around like a mad woman. I had no loose leaf tea! I sent my hubby out to get some and he comes back with Peppermint Tea. Yup! That’s awesome. He knows I like Peppermint Tea, however, the box was clearly marked Tea Bags!! Oi Vey! His thinking was that because there was a pretty picture on the front of the box depicting peppermint leaves, that the box contained leaves and hence loose leaf tea. There isn’t many places around my small town neck of the woods to find tea leaves but I finally found some at the Bulk Barn. Now, I was in business.
First, I had to find out just how to use my Libre Tea Glass Infuser. I mean, I had a rough idea just by looking at it but I wanted to find out any tips or tricks and the do’s and don’ts of using it.
I found that there are 3 ways to use the Libre Glass Infuser. So simple and easy to use. Seeing is believing so watch Libre Tea’s video to see how convenient using the Glass Infuser really is.
I had bought some Oolong Orange Tea leaves so I thought I would give that a whirl. Doing just as instructed, I removed the lid, boiled the water, added the water into the infuser and the placed the leaves onto the mesh screen.
I watched as the steam began rising out from the glass infuser. Before placing the cap onto the glass, I held my hand over the infuser making sure the steam had definitely stopped rising. After placing the lid onto the glass infuser, I turned it over and watched as the tea began to steep.
Surprisingly, the Libre Tea Glass Infuser was not too hot for me to pick up. I mean, it was definitely warm but not scolding as I thought it would be. The water stayed hot for quite some time. I was impressed! Don’t Forget (like I did) though, the water inside the infuser is hotter than what you feel on the outside. Yes, like a dummy, I burned my lip when I took my first sip. That’s my fault though!
I have to say that Oolong Orange Pekoe tea tastes great and I was really surprised by the fact that I wasn’t missing the one ingredient I always reach for – sugar!
I love that the Libre Tea Glass Infuser is so multi-functional. It’s not just for steeping my favourite teas. I am realizing, more so as I get older, that I need to drink more water but water is so bland! I find myself adding flavours to my water by using crystals or liquids that may or not be so great for me.
With the Libre Tea Glass Infuser, I can make my own flavoured water so easily and quickly. Strawberries, Oranges and Raspberries are my favourite. I can slice and add all three into the infuser for a fruit medley or just one for a singly delicious beverage. The light fruity flavour of the water is so mouthwatering and refreshing and best yet – so good for me! I’m saying goodbye to added sugar – today!
The best thing I love about the Libre Tea Glass Infuser is the portability. I can take it anywhere I want to go. When I leave my house, I can bring a freshly steeped tea or infused beverage along with me. I can easily carry some tea leaves in my purse so I can make myself a tea along my travels. Hot water is easily found. I have found many restaurants will gladly fill up a travel mug, thermos or any other container with hot water. I am adding up the amount of money I will save by not buying beverages when I go out. The Libre Tea Glass Infuser is going to save me a lot of money in the long run.
The Libre Tea Glass Infuser would make the perfect gift for tea lovers to the health conscious and everyone in between.
