Recently I was introduced to Lost My Name. Lost My Name is an amazing company that makes wonderfully creative personalized stories for kids. I love personalized children’s books. I love them so much I’m not even sure how many we have. Lets just say we have at least a dozen different personalized children’s stories in my house. Probably more. I love how personalized books are more than just stories, they are keepsakes!
What sets Lost My Name apart from the others is the magical quality to their story. Hayden’s book isn’t made up of horses, yaks and dogs. Its hedgehogs, yetis and dragons! The illustrations are beautiful, and magical. The story itself is interesting, funny, and even educational. Have you ever heard of a Nabarlek? Neither have I! But after reading Hayden’s book, I now know a Nabarlek looks just like a tiny kangaroo (although he is not a kangaroo)!
Honestly, my experience with Lost My Name has been fantastic right from the beginning. The website was really easy to use. They have two books to choose from (and they also have personalized alphabet posters). I chose The Little Boy Who Lost His Name , and ordering it was so simple and quick! I picked the blond adventurer for our story to match Hayden. As an added bonus, this character is wearing blue which happens to be Hayden’s favourite colour!
Next, the website takes you to preview your book. If you click on the animals under your child’s name, you will get the option to choose another character if you would like. Choosing a different character changes the story!
After I made my character selections, it took me to the dedication page. I really liked what they have written as their default dedication, so I didn’t change it.
In total, it took me less than five minutes to personalize and order The Little Boy Who Lost His Name. Once ordered, you have 24 hours to make any edits before your book is sent to printing. You get updated once its sent to printing, and again once its shipped out. Oh, and did I mention that shipping is FREE? And not just for Canada, or North America. Shipping is free WORLDWIDE!
My very first impression when The Little Boy Who Lost His Name arrived in the mail was the paper quality. This is a soft cover book, but the quality of the paper is amazing! Its printed on Mohawk paper which is environmentally friendly and nice to touch. Its not at all flimsy, each page is thick and sturdy. The illustrations are vibrant and colourful, and the story is just really fun.
In Hayden’s story, we meet a Hedgehog, a vegan Alligator who only eats certified organic food, a Yeti, a Dragon, an Eagle and a Nabarlek who is not a kangaroo.
The very last page has Hayden tucked into bed, with his name spelled out in big letters above him.
Over all I am very pleased with my experience with Lost My Name, and I plan on purchasing their other book, The Incredible Intergalactic Journey, for my son. I really love how every book is different. Lost My Name provides the perfect gift for every child!
Check Lost My Name out! You won’t be disappointed. This book is well worth the price tag of $38.99. Its more than just a book, its an original memory keepsake to treasure for a lifetime.
