Lost My Name: The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home
by David Cadji-Newby and Pedro Serapicos
To me, there is nothing more special than a personalized keepsake book, especially when the book is beautifully illustrated with a timeless story that we can read over and over again. Lost My Name creates beautiful, magical personalized stories that will never get old or boring. Their newest book, The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home, is no exception.
I love books. I have always surrounded myself with books. I can’t imagine a world without books, nor would I want to imagine it. Books are my relaxation, my escape, and at times my comfort. I just really love books. I’ve always provided my children with books from the time they were born. One of the first things I bought my oldest son after he was born, beyond the basics and every day items, were books. I still have the very first two books I bought for Travis in the fall of 1994.
Last year I was introduced to Lost My Name and they WOWED me. The Little Boy Who Lost His Name is imaginative, beautifully illustrated, funny, and really well done. The colours of the drawings, the creative story and magical creatures, the high quality paper; everything about this story absolutely WOWED me. We read it often, and its always fun no matter how many times we’ve read it before.
Lost My Name’s most recent book is called The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home, and once again I am absolutely WOWED. Created for boys and girls aged 3-10, this is a fun imaginative story with beautiful drawings, an incredible adventure, personalized so that its a one of a kind story!
As always, the Lost My Name website is easy to use and ordering my book took less than five minutes. After adding my son’s name and choosing the character that best matches him, the only thing left to personalize was our address. I added that in, and was taken to an actual map to verify that they had the right location. This is the information that they use to personalize our story!
A quick confirmation, and our book was ordered and then we just had to wait for our book to arrive in the mail. A nice little touch that you get with Lost My Name is shipping updates by email. You will know when they are printing your book, and when it has been shipped. It is the personal touches like this that make Lost My Name really stand out.
We were pretty excited when The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home arrived in our mail box, and Hayden wasn’t able to wait until bedtime. We had to read it immediately! Hayden got right down to reading, and we were able to read it together. Hayden read the words he knew and I read the ones he didn’t know.
Like The Little Boy Who Lost His Name, The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home is beautifully written, and the illustrations are amazing. The story is fun, fast-paced, and full of incredibly creatures, real and imaginary. There is humour as well that had Hayden giggling hysterically.
I love how not only is this book interesting and captivating, there is a little bit of a geography lesson at the end when the story brings you home. Hayden was AMAZED that the Calgary Tower appears, and then an over-head map of our neighbourhood.
Of course we can’t forget the personalized details. Your address will appear at the back of the book, and your child will get his or her name written in the stars as well!
