Catch and Learn – The Game Where You Fish For Answers

Catch and Learn

Practice Your Motor Skills, Math, Spelling & More!

catch and learn

We are a board game kind of family. I find board games are perfect for weekends and any day when its just not nice to go outside and play. I love when a game is not only fun but includes some educational content as well! NEW from Plasmart,  Catch and Learn is a fun game where kids can practice their spelling, grammar and math skills!

Catch and Learn is the perfect game for kids ages 3 and up. The kids can practice basic spelling and math skills (and more), so this is a great addition for a home school curriculum and to help introduce children to some basic learning concepts.

Learn by playing these games, or invent your own:

SPELLING: Pick up the letters in the proper order to spell a word.

GRAMMAR: Select the nouns or verbs and reel them in.

ADDITION/SUBTRACTION: Choose a question, and the right answer.

MULTIPLICATION: Multiply 2 cards, and find the answer.

  • Press the button to retract the worm magnet and haul in your answers.
  • Helps improve math, spelling, memory, and fine motor skills.
  • Two or more players (one can be a parent or teacher).

Other game ideas could include: odd/even numbers, lower and uppercase letters, capitals and provinces (or states or even countries), shapes, colours, opposites, French to English,  etc. The possibilities are limitless and the educational value is endless.

Included in your Catch and Learn box: Retractable magnet fish catcher, 10 dry-erase fish cards, dry-erase marker, and instructions/game manual.

Because you can create your own games with Catch and Learn, you can make them as simple or as hard as you want (based on your child’s skills) so this is a game that can grow as your child’s skills develop and change (which adds to the value and playability). For little ones, you can create a basic matching game and for older ones you can practice the multiplication tables. I love how versatile it is, and how we can create a myriad of games. It is also a great homework helper as we can take what the boys are working on in school, and transfer it into a fun game to make learning (and remembering) easier, more exciting, and rewarding.

This summer, we will use Catch and Learn to practice the skills the boys learned in grades one and two so that they stay sharp and don’t “forget.” Nine weeks is a long time to be out of school, so I like to make sure we practice reading, spelling, and math so that they are ready for the new year in September!

I’m excited about what a great learning tool Catch and Learn is, and because of its versatility and grow-with-me design, this is a game that the boys will be playing with for years.
