Nuts About Nuts by Shir GuezI have to say that this book was not what I had expected. I absolutely enjoyed reading it from start to finish.

Shir Guez did a wonderful job illustrating and explaining in simple terms how nutritious nuts can be that any child can understand.

Did you know that there are two definitions of nuts? The botanical and the culinary? I certainly didn’t.

The author talks about these main nuts in nutrition: Peanuts, Almonds, Pecans, Pistachios, Walnuts, Macadamia nuts, Cashews, Pine nuts, Chestnuts, Hazelnuts, and Brazil nuts.

* Nuts should not be given to children under the age of 4 due to choking hazards.
* Soaked nuts or raw nuts are better than salted or sweetened nuts
* Only 2-4 Brazil nuts a day are recommended or it may lead to selenium poisoning
* Cashews are an alternative to cheese when making creamed cheese
