The Taste Test

First, I have to say that I just love dried mixes. They curb the hunger between meals and are a healthy alternative.

Both the Chocolate & Nut Mix and the Harvest Mix contain Wheat Squares which I love. I eat wheat squares often and most times dry and right from the box. I have even been known to sprinkle spices on them and let them bake for a bit which gives them a boost of flavour. Granola, Almonds and Honey Roasted Peanuts are also a common ingredient within the two mixes, all of which I like equally.

It’s going great so far….

What sets these two mixes apart are the remaining ingredients, some of which I really do not care for. The Harvest mix contains raisins and dried cranberries both of which I am not fond of and have never been. This being said it is quite easy to pick those out of the mix. Harvest mix made up for the two ingredients by adding Pumpkin Seeds which I absolutely LOVE.

The Harvest Mix, I found to be a little salty, perhaps with me taking out the raisins and cranberries, the flavours weren’t allowed to blend and compliment each other and perhaps lessen the saltiness

I’m not saying that I don’t like the Harvest Mix – it’s just not my personal cup of tea, however it was the hubby’s favourite.

The Chocolate & Nut Mix contains two ingredients which I just drool over. You guess it – Chocolate!! The Dark Chocolate Chunks and Semi Sweet Chips blend so well with the other ingredients. With the Chocolate and Nut mix I get the best of both worlds, sweet and salty which blend so well and compliment each other perfectly.

If I were to be forced to choose between the two mixes, I would have to choose the Chocolate & Nut Mix.
