Real Layers Gourmet Buttercream Frosting Canada’s 1st Premium Ready-to-Spread/Shelf Stable Frosting

real-layers-buttercreamfrosting-giveawayReal Layers Gourmet Buttercream Frosting, located in Toronto Ontario is a family owned company. Three sisters (Ana, Rosa & Lucy) launched their sweet business on May 1st, 2016. It all began in April of 2015 with Ana’s  frustration with ready to spread frostings and the artificial ingredients contained within. So, Ana went to work. Her kitchen was her lab where she let her imagination flow to create whole food, deliciously tasting, allergy friendly and the first Premium Ready-to-Spread/Shelf Stable Frosting in Canada.

Real Layers Gourmet Frostings are peanut & nut free and are made in a peanut & nut free facility. Their frostings are certified gluten free and koshur too! There are absolutely no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. The containers are microwavable, dishwasher safe and 100% recyclable.

Only 100% Real Butter is used to make these creamy frostings.

Real Layers come in three decadently delicious flavours.

When I received my frosting, it arrived chilled. The frosting was hard so I had to allow them to sit until they reached room temperature.

I couldn’t wait until the frosting warmed so I could try it. My sweet tooth was calling my name and saying “try me, eat me”.

I went on a baking frenzy and made a batch of cupcakes. Not too sure right yet if that was a good idea at 11pm. (laughs)

To speed up the process and to make the frosting spreadable, I microwaved the frosting at 5 second intervals (recommended) until the desired consistency was achieved.

Needless to say, I took my photos right away since I knew the cupcakes would not likely make it until morning.

After only 10 seconds the frosting was warming up!

I only needed to microwave it 5 to 10 seconds more before the frosting was the consistency that I wanted it to be. Now I began to decorate all my vanilla cupcakes.

I wanted to try all the flavours so I had some with Maple Frosting, Vanilla Frosting and of course Chocolate Frosting. I also added some sprinkles to make them more “pretty”.

The frostings come in a 375g tub. Each tub is able to frost up to 24 cupcakes, one(1) 13″x9″ or a two(2) layer cake. Of course, you can use the frosting on anything you bake, it’s not just limited to cupcakes and cakes!

Since I had some frosting leftover, I decided to make a Double Fudge cake. I baked it in a 13″x9″ pan. When it was done and I let it set to cool, I cut the cake in half, trimmed the edges and turned it into a double layer cake.

I used the Maple frosting between the layers. Covered the cake with the Vanilla frosting then I drizzled the chocolate frosting by heating it up just a little bit more so it had a more running consistency. It needed something on the top (enter light bulb above the head), so I tried my best to make an R(eal) and an L(ayers).

Now, I am no cake decorator by any sense of the term. I would definitely be leaving Cake Wars in the first round! (-lol-).  I used to bake ALL the time, especially when the kids were young. Now, It’s pretty much only special occasions, holidays and the odd family gathering that I get to baking anything (in bulk). I had all the piping and every cake decorating gadget there was to be had. Somehow, over time, they all have either been lost or given away. I am now resorting to a spoon and a knife to make my masterpieces.

My decorating skills aside, what matters to me the most is the taste. I honestly felt like I had died and gone to heaven. The frosting is so creamy and the taste -OMG- the taste is dreamy! I can’t get enough of this heavenly frosting. I baked my cake and ate it too! I just had to have a piece!

I still have a few cupcakes left over and about half the cake for my son to try today. I gave some to my neighbours and they LOVED the frosting. Of course, I told them all about Real Layers and where to find the product.

I played it pretty safe and baked some very traditional items to put the frosting on, however, there are so many things you can decorate and make with the amazing buttercream frostings such as these Fruit-ostings!

More Sweet Ideas & Recipes!: http://www.reallayers.com/sweet-ideas.html

I am going to be doing a lot of baking with the Christmas holidays fast approaching, not to mention New Years celebrations. Now that I have tried Real Layers Gourmet Buttercream Frosting, nothing else will do. It is really and truly the best frosting I have tasted to date! I am going to have to stock up on this product! I can’t wait to serve my sweet treats to my guests. I know they will fall in love with the rich, creamy delicious frosting just as I did. It always puts a smile on my face when my guests can’t get enough of my creations. I always tell them where I purchased my products too!

Of course, I try and have a pretty display of my baked goods and finger foods. I’m already getting ready for the holidays!

I also caught the cupcake thief – red handed!!! Leave it to my son to sneak a cupcake before I take my photo! -lol-

I gave him some of my “test” cupcakes to munch on but he loved them so “dang much” that he just “had” to sneak another! He couldn’t get enough of the Real Layers Gourmet Buttercream Frosting.
