I had the wonderful opportunity to review their Campfire Tales children’s book along with matching pillow cover. When I opened the packaging, I was both surprised and pleased to see how it was presented. In the form of a gift wrapped so nicely and even had a special message written for me on the post card.
One of the things I love about what I do is being able to help people. A fair amount of my readers know that I am an empty nester. My children are all grown and I have yet to have any grandchildren. I love reviewing products for children. I not only am able to promote the brand, but I am also able to help those who are less fortunate.
I enlisted the help of Michael. He is a little boy (age 6) who lives across the street from me. I called over to have Michael visit me but I didn’t say why. When he arrived I showed him the items and asked him if he wanted to read the book. He said yes (yayyyy for me -lol). He sat down quietly and begun to read, smiling at each turn of the page.
While he was reading the book, I laid the pillow next to him (I had placed one of my comfy throw pillows inside the pillow cover) and he begun to snuggle up with it while he was reading the story.
The Campfire Tales is a legal sized (9 1/2″x11″) magazine style book that contains 10 pages. The illustrations are beautiful, bright and pop out from the pages. In this first edition is the Fable of Frog and Coyote which takes you on the adventurous journey of how the Frog was able to outsmart the Coyote.
The story is truly wonderful and will capture the attention of your child. I know it captured Michael’s. While I do not want to make this into a spoiler and give up the plot of the story, I will tell you that the ending is great.
At the closing of the tale there is a moral in which your child will have learned.
After Michael had read the book, I asked him what he thought about it. He told me that “It was a wonderful book and that he liked it.” He also asked me if he could come over another day and read it again. At this point Michael was unaware that he would be bringing the book and the pillow cover home with him.
I then asked Michael what he thought of the pillow cover. Smiling ear to ear, he said ” I love it! It’s just so soft and I want to lay with it all day long.”
The Pillow Cover is just that. It is so soft, durable and very very well constructed. It certainly will last a long time. I was surprised at how large the cover was as well. My comfy throw pillow was swallowed by the pillow cover -lol-
Once I gathered his thoughts and then asked him if I could take some photos, I gave him the products to take home. Anything that I review and enlist the help of a deserving child, they KEEP!!!
He was so happy and kept saying to me “This is for me, I get to keep this?!” and my answer was yes!
You should have seen the smile on his face! He told me ” I am going to go home and read the book again and put my pillow in the cover and it is going to be my new pillow forever. ”
Before he left, while I was sitting in my office downloading the photos, he walked in and got my attention.
He said excuse me, and went to hand me 0.30 Cents. I asked him what he was giving me 0.30 cents for. He said to me “I don’t have much money but I wanted to pay you for taking the pictures.”
Well let me tell you that I am still teary eyed.
This is what life and my blogging is all about!!! To me anyhow. I truly believe there couldn’t be a better way to promote while also getting the opinions of children and their family about the products aside from my own thoughts and findings. I find it to be such an effective tool in promoting a brand. Sparkhead Kids will be in their thoughts and they will mention the company to others and we all know that word of mouth goes a very long way.
Michael’s dad was quite impressed by the book and the pillow cover and will be telling his friends about the company.
Sparkehad Kids has more to offer than just books and pillow covers. Their matching bedroom sets are wonderfully illustrated and would turn any little boys and girls room into a magical night sky, glorious garden or adventurous forest.
Their products are made and designed in Canada and all their dyes used in any of their fabrics are environmental and kid friendly.
