UncommonGoods – The Place to Shop for the Eclectic & Hard-To-Buy-For

The Place to Shop for the Eclectic & Hard-To-Buy-For

UncommonGoods knows that there’s a story behind every product. It’s that of an emerging designer just introducing her work to the world; artisans working collaboratively in a low-income country; or a seasoned artist crafting each of his pieces by hand. With your help, they’re building a community of passionate people who love their products and connect with the stories behind them. They are growing not only their artist family, but also a strong following of customers who celebrate artists and delight in surrounding themselves with creative design.

I have some really difficult people on my gift list each year. My husband and oldest son are near-impossible to buy for, and my second son is very eclectic, like myself.  That can make it quite difficult to find the perfect gift for him. As Taylor has grown older, he’s become more and more difficult to buy for. Beyond the usual books or book series that he asks for each year, I often find myself stumped on what to get him. This is where uncommongoods helps me out. They have such a wide-range of products including unique, eclectic, and geek gifts to help me find the perfect gifts for everyone on my list, including Taylor.

On Christmas Eve, my boys all get to open up one special gift that I selected especially for them. For me, it is important to pick them out a gift that best represents their uniqueness. All five of my boys are very different, with very different interests, and it is often a challenge to find gifts that are as unique as they are. One of the things I like best about UncommonGoods is that I can shop for Christmas gifts for all five of my boys on one website. With a varied and unique selection of gifts, there is something for everyone no matter their age, taste, or style.

When shopping for my 20 year old, I always filter by interest to find gifts I know he will appreciate, and love. Taylor is all geek, and I mean that in the best way possible. The biggest issue I had in picking out Taylor’s Christmas Eve present was the awesome selection of gifts for geeks. It took me quite some time to narrow it down, but I finally picked out a puzzle that I know will frustrate and challenge him, and require him to use his critical thinking skills.

Not only was I able to find the perfect gift for Taylor, I was also able to find the perfect gifts for my youngest three sons as well!

Another challenge I face with my Christmas shopping is finding stocking stuffers that are not only useful, but interesting, fun and exciting.  I want the boys’ stockings to be catered to their individual personalities, with unique items to go along with the traditional toiletries, socks, chocolates, and plush critters.

What makes UncommonGoods stand out, for me, is the perfect selection of gifts for all five of my boys despite their different ages, personalities, and interests. I also like that by shopping here, I am helping to support artisans which makes each gift all the more special.
