Bring Your Imagination to Life

Stikbots want to act in YOUR creations! Simply pose them for a photo or download the free mobile app – ZING STUDIO – for iOS and Android. Z-Screen Magic allows you to use your own special moment or theme to create your next masterpiece.

What are Stikbots?

They are easy-to-pose figures that have suction cup hands and feet, which can stick to almost any flat surface. Using the free Stikbot Studio app, which is available on both iOS and Google Play, you can take individual pictures and then the app will put them together to create your own original film. Complete your film using the built-in music and sound effect options.

The Stikbot Zanimation Studio includes a reversible green/blue Z-screen stage to allow children to take their stop-motion creativity up a notch. With the green/blue Z-screen, you can upload your own photos or animated backdrops or you can use the images provided within the Stikbot Studio app! If you have a blue figure you use the green screen, and if you have a green figure you use the blue screen. Other colours will work on either screen. With the include prop boxes, you can create a cool 3D affect.

Inside your Zanimation Studio box you will find one reversible green/blue Z-screen, 2 green/blue block props and two coloured Stikbots (ours included a red one and an orange one).  You will also receive one phone tripod.

Stikbot Pets are the newest addition to the Stikbot family. With almost 200 million (YES – 200 MILLION) views on YouTube, Stikbot is turning kids everywhere into stop-motion animation movie makers, bringing imagination to life.

Like the original figures, the Pets are easy-to-pose figures with suction cup hands and/or feet that will stick to just about any surface.

Available Stikbot Pets are:  StikBulldog, StikCat, StikDog, StikMonkey, StikCow, StikHorse, StikGorilla, and StikBear. Pets come in brown, red, blue or green and are available in both solid and clear varieties.

To start, you need to download the free app. I downloaded the app to my iPhoneSE. It was easy to find by searching “Stikbot.”

Once the app was downloaded, I needed to allow the app access to my camera. We were now ready to start creating!

We’re still not very good with the videos, but we figure the more we make the better we will become.  Thomas (10) has the most patience, so he is the one who has been playing around with the app, trying to create videos. The app includes fun backgrounds that you can use, or you can use one of your own pictures. To finish your video you can add voice or use the sounds and music included in the app.

Our first video:

For our first video, my phone wasn’t zoomed in enough so that is why the background isn’t solid.

My one big tip for creating your videos is to make sure you have proper lighting. We found when trying to make videos in the evening with only artificial light, the light gave off a bit of a glare. Using natural sunlight seems to provide the best lighting experience with no shadows.

Thomas’ First Videos:

Thomas is really enjoying the Stikbots and I’m sure as the summer progresses he will make better and better films! It is a process of learning what works, and what doesn’t work, but it is a lot of fun and I enjoy seeing what he imagination will create next!

The Zing Stikbot Studio app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.  For iOS, the app requires iOS 8.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. For Android, the app requires version 4.1 and up.

The Zanimation Studio retails for $24.99, and the pets are $5.99 each. Other sets are available including Action packs and assorted single figures.
